This carefully crafted attire pays homage to the franchise’s incredible 35-year evolution since its very first season back in 1988-89.
Radiating a sense of cherished history, the 2023-24 Hornets Classic Edition uniform proudly displays a teal design embellished with a delightful array of multi-colored double pinstripes. This design pays homage to the adored jerseys of the second-generation Hornets during the years 1997-2002.
Fred Whitfield, the forward-thinking head of the Hornets, shared his enthusiasm, mentioning, “We can’t wait to introduce this brand-new Classic Edition uniform, a key part of our celebration for the 35th Anniversary of when the Charlotte Hornets first took the stage. “Hornets’ jersey represents the classic font, elegantly spelling “Charlotte” across the chest, while the player’s name and number take their proud place on the back. Enveloping the jersey are the multi-colored double pinstripes, an ensemble of regal blues, serene blues, regal purples, and vibrant greens.
The design is further elevated by a crossover v-neck and resplendent purple-striped side panels embellishing both the jersey and shorts. A pinnacle of nostalgia graces the left thigh of the shorts in the form of the Classic Hornets logo. The jersey bears the revered emblem of Nike’s esteemed Jordan Brand on the right chest, a symbol of excellence.
