Jordan Zion 3 Reviews

Jordan Zion 3 is the signature shoe of Zion Williamson’s collaboration with the Jordan brand. It’s the third version of his signature lineup and they changed a lot of things by adding a midsole drop.

Zion 3 was first released on 12th January 2023 and comes in three different variations color Cement Grey/Pure Platinum/University Red. The retail price is 140 bucks which is perfectly fine as Zion 1 goes for $75 and Zion 2 and up for grabs at $70.

One of the best features of this signature shoe is the improved ground feel because the Formula23 foam makes it even more soft and responsive underfoot to help you stay low in your movements.

In this review, we’ll take a closer look at the performance, durability, and comfort, and how it compares to the previous Zion 1 and 2 models.

Jordan Zion 3 Performance Review

To sum it up, Jordan Zion 3 is known for its snug 1 to 1 fit, which is great for performance yet not suitable for those with wide feet.

Zion 3 is designed for heavier players with fast-paced play styles along with solid traction, especially on clean courts. Be aware of one thing, as it picks up dust quickly, which may affect your performance on dusty courts.

The materials and color splatter on the upper of the Zion 3 represent Zion Williamson’s South Carolina roots, and the shoe has Formula23 drop-in midsole and Zoom Air cushioning for maximizing comfort and support.

Can Jordan Zion 3 Withstand Outdoor Activities?

While the shoe is not specifically designed for outdoor activities, it should be able to withstand moderate outdoor use.

Jordan Zion 3 is specifically designed to support Zion Williamson’s playing style, which includes containment, court feel, and impact protection.

However, I have identified three main features that allow shoes to
withstand outdoor activities. There are Rubbers, Patterns, and Materials.

I saw the rubbers were above average in terms of toughness which is enough to provide good traction on outdoor surfaces.

Zion 3 has a mud splatter print on both sides, which means it was made to add extra durability to the shoe.

This shoe is crafted with the finest quality textiles, expertly designed to provide optimal comfort and durability even on outdoor courts.

Zion 3 on Feet: How Does It Feel?

As I said earlier, this shoe feels extremely comfortable because of the solid traction and reinforced materials, which also makes it a better match for heavier players with fast-paced play styles.

It has a padded collar and tongue to help prevent discomfort and rubbing, while the cushioning system provides a good balance of support and comfort.

If we see the drop-in midsole, that’s also very comfortable and provides responsive cushioning which is bound to cater to different playing styles.

I can confidently say that the players will appreciate the lightweight feel of the shoe and they will praise especially the unrestricted movement on the court.

Differences From the Previous Zion 1 & 2 Models

Compared to the previous Zion 1 and 2 models, the Jordan Zion 3 “Gen Zion” has a few key differences. One of the biggest changes is the shoe’s design, which features a more streamlined and modern look.

The shoe also has an updated cushioning system that provides a good balance of support and comfort. Let’s not forget their new addition, Zoom Air instead of a forefoot unit for greater impact protection.

If you look closely, you’ll notice the outsole has been redesigned to provide better traction on the court which makes Jordan Zion 3 “Gen Zion” a top-performing basketball shoe that offers both style and performance.

I agree that this shoe is not the best choice for those with wider feet, but its excellent traction, responsiveness, and comfortable fit are worth every penny.
